Hi, my name is
Christopher Schultz. I started Dane County Fire Report.com, DCFR for
short, on June 4th, 2007. I started this website to help
fill a void for firefighters in Dane County. This site was made to
give the firefighter all the information that was out there, to help
them better themselves as far as training, being aware of what’s
going on in and around Dane County and just finding out if there was
any interesting calls that other departments had during the course
of a day.
In 1994, I joined the Delton Fire Department, home of
water slides, mini-golf, go carts, and all around crazy tourists. I
was an intern with Fitchburg Fire Department from 1995-1997,
I was promoted to Lieutenant in 1999 which I held until I had to
“hang the helmet up” in 2006. I soon realized that I couldn't be
away from firefighting for too long and in March 2008 is was
appointed as a firefighter with the City of Verona Fire Department. I have been a dispatcher at the Dane
County Communications Center (Comm Center for all the locals) since
2001. As you can see, I’ve been in and around Dane County for awhile
now and know a few people in the business.
My aim for the website is to have a “one stop site”
for firefighters to go and get a majority of their information they
need to do their job, enjoy their job a little bit more, and share
some of their thoughts and ideas about firefighting.
Please feel free to send me anything that you think
is important to share with other departments, I’ll take almost
anything. Firefighting is a large family that goes beyond the
firehouse, I’m just happy to be a part of it and glad that I can
pass information on to my fellow brothers and sisters.
Thanks again,
Christopher Schultz
