Ladder 2 was built because Sun Prairie has some new neighborhoods that have very narrow streets. SUFD also has a Pierce Tower/Platform, and they were concerned that the size of that truck wouldn't make it down some streets.

The star on the ladder is for their Christmas Parade that was going to be held after these pictures were taken.

Jimmy the Groundhog. Famous for letting us know if it will be 6 weeks till spring, or 6 weeks left of winter.

The truck was just put into service on the 19th, and they are putting equipment into compartments and trying to decide what works where.
